Cyrus Audio is proving that life really does begin at 40 with the release of its 40 Series of hi-fi products.

The 40 Series features four key products: an integrated amplifier, an integrated CD player, a network streamer, and an external power supply. Additionally, a phono preamp is expected to launch in 2025. Each of these products is crafted in Britain, featuring anodised aluminium and custom-designed components.

In terms of design, these devices stand out with their sleek edge-to-edge glass fronts, displaying album art in full color through TFT screens. The iconic half-width aluminium chassis, finished in brushed black, stays true to Cyrus’ design heritage, while the volume control is made from five distinct parts. A new remote control, styled to match the components, rounds out the aesthetic upgrades.

Significant changes have been made to the internals as well. Cyrus' new DAC is built around the ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M chipset, utilizing HyperStream IV Dual DAC technology for superior sound quality.

At the heart of the range is the 40 AMP integrated amplifier, designed to be the central hub of any hi-fi setup. Delivering 100 watts per channel into 6 ohms, it promises enough power to drive even the most demanding speakers. The amplifier's electronic circuitry was engineered from scratch by Cyrus' R&D team to ensure top-tier performance.

The amplifier offers a variety of digital and analog connections and includes a low-noise moving magnet phono stage. Borrowing design elements from the Cyrus Classic PHONO, this ensures minimal background noise and a high dynamic range. An HDMI eARC is also included for those who want to link their hi-fi speakers to their TV.

The 40 ST network streamer leverages the BluOS platform for high-resolution streaming, supporting 24-bit/192kHz playback over your home network. With the BluOS app, users can access over 20 music streaming services, as well as thousands of internet radio stations and their own music library. The streamer also supports Roon, AirPlay 2, and MQA decoding, with additional coaxial and optical inputs for connecting other digital music sources.

The 40 CD player shares the same DAC as the other 40 Series products. Its power supply has been reengineered to minimize interference between signals, ensuring cleaner performance. Separate power sources drive different parts of the player, and nine individual stage regulators manage and distribute power based on demand. With Cyrus’ strong reputation in CD players, this model promises to deliver exceptional performance.

The 40 PSU external power supply is another highlight, continuing Cyrus' long-standing expertise in this area. This new version includes an onboard microprocessor and can be paired with all products in the 40 Series. It adjusts power output digitally, ensuring stability and minimal noise for optimal performance.
